What Are My Qualifications?

I have over eight years of experience providing therapy to individual adults, teens, and children using the modalities described on my treatment page. I trained in substance abuse treatment while employed at the Department of Drugs and Alcohol, Santa Clara County. In addition, I completed an intensive training program at the Hazelden residential facility in Spring Brook, Oregon. I am also a Level I Gottman trained Couples Therapist.

I have eight years of experience counseling children and adolescents referred for behavioral problems, academic underachievement, health issues and crisis in the family. I work closely with families and am experienced in working with teachers and school staff when appropriate.

As a health educator, I developed and taught curricula for Parenting and Child Development, Healthy Weight Management, Healthy Relationships, and Healthy Living for Women in Recovery.

As a member of the adjunct faculty of Santa Clara University, I am a group facilitator working with graduate students in the Counseling Psychology Department.

I am the parent of two grown children who attended local schools. I served as an active school volunteer and on the Board of Directors of Adolescent Counseling Service, Palo Alto. My long-time involvement in the local community means I understand the pressures and the unique features of life in Silicon Valley.
